I had the clutch replaced on my 200tdi last December, today I pulled into a parking space on a local supermarket, when I pressed the clutch I heard a loud crack then a rattling noise like something had shattered. I felt it through the clutch pedal.
Now every time I start the car I can hear the same loud rattling but the clutch seems to be working OK at the moment. I ain't gonna risk driving round cus I might cause more damage.
Is it my clutch again, if so what are the chances of two clutches going in less than a year? Did the garage stitch me up with cheap ****ty parts???

Any thoughts guys?

There is a known fault with the clutch release fork, that wears through at the pivot point and usually stops the clutch releasing.

Whatever the problem, the gearbox is going to have to come off to sort it out.

I guessed as much.

take the engine out with engine crane it's easier

I haven't got access to that sort of equipment and I haven't got a driveway to do the job anyway. Looks like I gotta pay the garage again!!!!!:mad::mad:

You guys are fast!!!

So you don't think it will be the clutch again, It sounded similar to the last time it went.

This disco is costing me more than its worth!

It's gonna cost me more than I thought, there's a hole in the side of the gearbox and the flywheel housing. God knows what damage has been caused inside!!

New flywheel housing, almost certainly another new clutch and gearbox repair.

Now I'm ****ed off.
