I am having some trouble with my 2000 Disco TD5 clutch, when driving it sounds/feels like the clutch is slipping (badly), I have had the clutch looked at & the mechanic said the clutch is ok.

I have now noticed the clutch pedal when charging gear creeps up very slowly when you take your foot off.

What & where would be causing the pedal to be sticky,
I have found out that on one of it's services recently it had a new cluch slave master cylinder fitted, could this be the problem ? not being adjusted correctly or something

Mine does the same, just had complete new clutch fitted (£867) lighter.!!!! & have been told that couple of other advisorys, one being "Suspect weak return spring in clutch master cylinder" hopefully that is the problem why its not fully returning to the top

what kind of noise do you have ,can you smell burning ,master cylinder is fastened to clutch pedal one end and sits on bulkhead in engine bay its possible fluid isnt returning properly holding clutch on ,check pipe from master too slacver cylinder to make sure it isnt fitted twisted and crimping hose

Hello James Martin
I don't really get a noise, the disc revs but doesn't seem to go anywhere.
I have been underneath it today, & I'm a little worried, as I found what seems to be a drain/filler plug hole on the underside of the gearbox with no plug in the hole. there is a plastic inspection cover & when removed I can see right into the gearbox, I have taken a couple of photos. I am just wondering if the plug became loose & fell out so leaving the gearbox empty of oil. the hole is threaded as though it should have a plug in there but unsure. where do I upload the pictures as too obtain advice ?:drama:

Have you tried it with difflock engaged? could be a snapped halfshaft

That'll be the wading plug hole? ya only put a bolt (plug) in there if your going wading or laning/offroading,
