hi guys im new here but i had to find somewhere to get help and a friend recommended here so here goes ive just changed a clutch in my 96 disco 300 tdi after i finished and bled the salve then i tested it i had the clutch pressed in and put it into gear and it went to drive so i changed the salve cyclinder and bled that up but still the same its like trying to put it in gear with the clutch up so if anyones knows anything to help id be very greatful thanks tom

so you are saying prssing pedal isnt disengaging clutch, does it partially disengage or nothing, did you but friction plate in right way is rod fitted between slave and release arm is it bled properly the cylindrical damper can make bleeding difficult, close nipple before letting pedal up when bleeding open for pedal down ,if not much fluid coming out slacken pipe on mastercylinder and close when letting pedal up

hi pal ive done all above mate properly the clutch only fits one way i tested that before i put it in as for the clutch it feels like theres a little bit there but not enough to select a gear i bled it up and its got a good pedal but when i press the pedal in and try to put it into gear its like it wants to go in but if you push it hard it trys to drive and if you put it in 1st and drive then press the clutch it will just carry on driving and i cant take it out of gear

well if bled up properly it is possible clutch cover fault ive had some do it cover doesnt release evenly so presses on one side ,

gearbox back out then i was hoping i didnt have to do that but ive been thinking the past couple of days and thats the only option left but the only thing that has been stoping me is that i know i put the clutch in right im 100% on that i done it when i took the engine out but i suppose its better to check thanks alot mate..:)

i was meant to ask though the little white clip that goes on the salve arm to attach it to the fork does that matter if its missing thanks
