Does the Freelander 1 suffer much from clutch slave failure?
If it does, what is generally recommended as a quality replacement slave?

thank you Dirk Pitt

8n case it is not a td4 it comes as a unit with the master cylinder. Get OEM.
In case it is a td4 it come with the release bearing, like in the Puma.. That stupid concept means you have to drop the box to change it. Even more of a reason to get OEM

sorry I have no idea which model. From the description of dropping the box I'd say TD4.
Which OEM is recommended? Metal or plastic?
I apologise, I'm a trespasser... I dont own a Land Rover but the same engine I believe was fitted to a Rover 75 and
was wondering if there was something better in the Land Rover that would suit a Rover 75.

That is fine @Dirk Pitt. UUB000070 is the part number (suppose it is the same. There is a Magnetti Marelli one which is OEM, metal and 2 years warranty.
Had a Rover 75 in France, it was the only non Land Rover I had in 20 years. It was my long distance luxury treat. Bought it for €1200 and no regrets.
