Clutch slave cylinder and union

i have recently replaces my clutch slave cylinder on my series 2a with one i bought from paddocks. the slave fits fine however the pipe from the master will not go in the hole. do i have a duf slave or do i need to replace/ file down the flare and union ?

Sometimes they spread when tightened, and then wont go back in

i thought about the metric thread i was wondering if it would be easyest to put anothe new slave in or replace the pipes ?

oh i should probably have added that the flare o the end of the pipe dosent fit.
