Going to knock up new metal pipework, would you recommend Kunifer or steel?
Want to slip in a braided flexi if i can find one not sure of ID on a1/4 metal but wonder if a standard SS braided brake pipe would suffice?

Assuming DIN M12 make n female?

Do they still supply 1/4" bore pipe nowadays?
I thought that everything had gone over to the sillymetric, and it was now the OD that was measured, making it 8mm for clutch and the old 3/16 is now 6mm for the brakes, whilst leaving the fittings as they were originally just to confuse evrything! :eek::eek:
Please @jamesmartin correct me if (and I hope...) I'm wrong. :D:D

yes just as most brake pipes were still 3/16 certainly on 2003,metric equivalent is 6mm for 1/4 and 4.5mm for 3/16 or at least it is in any brake flaring kit ive seen

so din male n female 12mm not required for 1/4
I can just use the 10mm fittings with a 1/4 pipe?

@jamesmartin @Oldseadog

Gents

So I am trying to knock up my own flexi & metal clutch pipes (and why not?!)

I get the 1/4 pipe for the metal its the fitting size (not type) I am a bit confused about.

FLEXI appears to have a bulkhead female to a bulkhead male.

METAL from Flexi to Slave appear to be straight up short male's with single din flares.

Are the fittings size the same as the caliper brake lines 10mm x 1mm fine pitch male brake pipe union with shoulder, but using 1/4 instead of 3/16 pipe?

I bought a pre made one from Bearmack, 3 quid something, saved me a lot of faffing around but it was fiddly getting it in there.

fittings are obviously 1/4 fittings im not sure about td5 but earlier fittings were imperial,td5 may well be metric or not ive only made the earlier ones up
