Freelander 1 clutch pedal

help guys . have just changed my master and slave cylinder but now my clutch pedal is to high . the reason I changed it was my clutch pedal was staying down and found out my cylinder/s were not allowing me to change gear as it was not returning up any help. thanks sat nav

hi mate it seems not .I can change gear with the engine not running but as soon as I start engine nothing, but after pushing down on clutch a few times only now and then it will go in.

You need to free up to lever or the slave will fail

Any light oil to free it up. Then a couple of drops of engine oil every oil change to keep it free

Yes. You access the clutch release lever from above, after the air filter housing is removed.
However only the PG1 gearbox has a release lever. If its a TD4, then the clutch release is done by a concentric cylinder inside the bell housing.
