Hi all, first off you will probably tell i am completely incompetent, but thats why i'm asking the question....
on the drive to work today i noticed that my clutch pedal had developed a creaking sound whilst driving in slow moving traffic. Driving home the problem persisted so i planned to spray some silicon oil on it when i got home. On pulling up i rubbed my hand around the joint area which was healthily greased, but a curved piece of plastic came loose into my fingers. Its probably 5mm round the curvy bit.
I'm guessing that this coming loose/free/breaking is the source of the creaking. Questions are:
is this actually the source of the problem?
what does this thing do and therefore does it need fixing? what happens if i dont get it replaced (ie is it critical??)?
(Defender 90 2007 model btw)
Cheers in advance
