Hi all

bit of a clutch problem, first thing in the morning theres no clutch, its stuck in gear. Pumping the pedal helps then I drive away. A sharp dab on the clutch is ok but holding it down, at the lights say, it'll slowly start to creep forwards as the clutch drops back in.

That would make me think its a hydraulic issue not plate wear. Does anyone know how to tell if its the master or slave thats gone? Theres no leaks and externally both look ok. Id rather by a whole new cylinder that refit seals as there's aways the issue of worn scored bores, but Id like just to do the right one if possible.

Any suggestions?

Replace both, They cost peanuts.

Also replace the rubber hose half way though the hard line.

I think in all this will cost about 50 pounds ex labour.

Thanks Gents
as ever sound advice and Busters excellent photos - all ordered and lets hope next weekend is a bit wamer and dryer!

When I was doing a complete job on my gearbox I found that the clutch flexi was very difficult to find! Main steelers was expensive! Take your old one to pirtek and get them to do you a new one!

been so cold and wet and dark by the time Ive got home this week I ordered the whole lot, master, salve pipes, fexi, gaskets the whole shooting match. All fitted and back up and running even though it never made it above zero all day. Got all the bits on the bench, its the flexi thats gone. looks like its been twisted when it was put in. I'd never have thought of getting one it with out your advice so thanks guys!
