The clutch damper decided it was going to let go this morning, limped into work and luckily got the garage next door to do a coronary damper bypass:D

Now, the clutch is working fine, in fact feels better than it has done for ages, the issue is that the clutch pedal only has about an inch of travel, the pedal is low.

Previously all the clutch action was in the lowest inch or so of pedal travel but at least the pedal came all the way up.

As its working I'm wary of pulling the pedal up to see what happens, but what is going on, I was of the understanding that the damper did very little, can't see how it can affect pedal travel???

I had something similar, when the return spring for the pedal snapped. It's a bu**er of a job, so I just learned to live with it. However, within a couple of thousand miles, my clutch went pop anyway and I had to replace it all. Don't know if these things were linked, but...........
