Clutch issue Freelander 2 08 Diesel

Morning all,
I have a MANUAL 08 Diesel freelander 2,
When changing gear it feels gritty and reluctant to change but does without to much effort (for now).. any advice on what I can do to prevent this becoming a major therefore expensive problem...

Have you checked the clutch is operating correctly, and the fluid is up to level?

It's also worth checking under the lever gaiter for bits of gaiter that have crumbled away and are causing stickiness in the lever joint.
