Clutch in Defender 90

Hi all, new to the forum. I have just bought my first Land Rover. A V reg Defender 90, in good condition, just needs a new clutch. I have yet to get quotes, what kind of price should I be expecting?

My guess... £325 including parts and labour, outside of London. For a 200 or 300tdi.

They're easily nicked. Upgrade the security.

If thats a TD5 I suspect nearer a £1000 surely?

Depends if you change the DMF or not, but even them I would think a grand is on the steep side. Depends where you go I suppose.

Well spotted.

He could upgrade to a Freelander for that amount.

If OP was talking garage then I think they'd struggle to find one that wouldn't insist on doing dual mass flywheel as well if they had to warranty the job - and DMF's being what they are (cr*p) I think it would be foolish to not put one in especially as OP doesn't know the truck. He/She may also consider putting in a solid flywheel with the clutch (or even find someone has before with a bit of luck), but I know that view is likely to be controversial amongst some...
