Ive been told the hose between the master and slave cylinders is not a pressurised one would that make a big difference?
Hi Dave, keep it simple, you need to bleed the clutch hydraulic circuit, yes?
This is how I do it and it works really well. First get the things together that you will need: ring spanner for slave cylinder (think it's 10mm), a length of clear plastic tubing to go on the bleed nipple, a jam jar with 3 inches of old brake fluid in it,a tin of fresh dot 4 brake fluid and an assistant.
1. First ensure the clutch cylinder is full of fluid and have more fluid ready;
2. Put the ring spanner on the nipple, crack it off and then just snug it, put the tubing on the nipple and the other end in the jar of fluid;
3. Get your assistant seated and ready to operate the clutch pedal, when you are ready to open and close the bleed nipple tell your assistant to fully depress the clutch pedal and hold it down;
4. Once the system has been pressurised, open the bleed nipple allow fluid to flow and watch it carefully - it should be full of bubbles, leave open for 2 seconds then close and tell your assistant to release the pedal.
Check the fluid level in the master cylinder and top-up as neccesary.
5. Do this sequence 6-8 times or until you get full normal pedal pressure.
Good luck
Dave
