Clunking noise on my 90 200 tdi

Hi, this is my first time. I have just bought a 1993 90 with 200 tdi and it has a clunking noise when taking up drive in forward or reverse.The clutch is ok though.How much should i be able to twist the propshafts by hand?as on mine i get a good half a turn.

Half a turn is a bit excessive, but it's more likely to be your A Frame ball joint that's knackered.
