Clonks and shakes Disco 1

My old k reg dissy, gives a real clonk if you go round a roundabout and then
straighten up. It appears to make the floor knock, in other owrds you can
feel it as well as hear it. It seems to be similar both sides if you turn
left or right. Theres some take up on the drive assy when you pull away, but
not what i would consider to be excessive. It kind of sounds like a cv joint
taking up. But its only one clonk, on each direction change. And only
appears to be on full or near full lock.

Checked the panhard rod bushes recently??

Bound to be bushes, somewhere. That or the A-frame joint under the back
end.

Is the sound from the front or back? High or low speed? Rear radius
arm bushes can allow a clonk like you describe on full lock if they're
worn, especially if the A frame ball joint isn't too happy.

A few minutes with your old friend the 2ft pry bar + trolley jack and
all will be revealed.
