Not that loud, I can only hear it if the window is down and it only happens when turning left (no matter how slight) at 30mph it may be twice a second ish.
Swivel joint?

As T90 says, CV joint is favourite ... or a stone/nail/illegal alien caught in the tyre treads ... ;)

Just jacked up the front near side put some lock on and spun the wheel, nothing?
Is it worth getting some one shot in case it's low?

If it's CV joint, it will only click under load, so you won't hear it just spinning the wheel.
You could top up the swivel, but DO NOT OVERFILL IT! Any excess grease will end up on your brake disc - not a good idea.
If it's only clicking on full lock and there are no other symptoms, don't worry too much - it'll go on for ages like that. Replace the CV joint when it gets worse or if you've got to strip it for something else anyway.

Not clicking in the straight ahead but any slight turn left and it starts.
I can't see how I can add grease without knowing whats in there and the only way to check is to strip it.

Be warned it could also be the bearing which if it fails suddenly it can cause the wheel to lock up in some cases, not fun. Would be worth getting it checked out.

The bearing seems fine, just checked the price of a cv kit (about £50) so not to bad.
Are they easy to fit, just looked on my Rave cd and can't find it on there
Any special tools needed?

Two CV joints, all the gaitors and one shot you need from Paddocks is about £70 delivered....its really not worth worrying about. Change CVs. Mine collapsed in the end after clicking became worse and worse...

You'll need a hub nut spanner (52mm), but that's the only special tool.
Wheel off
Brake caliper aside
Hub off
Stub axle off
Pull out half-shaft
Knock old CV joint off
Knock new CV joint on
Re-fit half-shaft
etc.

But, 1 click per revolution sounds strange. Are you sure there's not just something catching?

No I'm not sure nothings catching, I should have time this morning to take wheel off and have a look.
I've had CVs go before in front wheel drives and it dosen't sound the same to me.

Jack the wheel up and get someone to tug hard on the wheel (top to bottom and side to side). Watch the swivel and hub areas closely while they do that.
It might be something as simple as a bit of play in the top swivel pin.

Well it's all fixed thanks (for now)
Told the wife that it's all down to me being a brilliant engineer.:p
Jack car up, took wheel off, nothing. Spun the hub may times, then noticed the faintest click at one point.
I sat there on the floor turning the hub listening to this, when I happened to accidentally lean on the inner dust shield ( I think that's what it is)
All of a sudden I get a grinding noise, so I pushed harder and spun the hub a few times and now it's gone !
Bear in mind this has been getting worse for about the last 1500 miles.
I can't see anything trapped or even where it could be.

Now to take this further, the ABS on my car is terrible, on the way to work there is a manhole that has always tripped the ABS (when wet) on any car I've driven.
When I cross it in the Defender it feels like brake failure, it trips the ABS as I cross it but the stopping power doesn't come back like you would expect it to.

So, is there a toothed ridge around the hub that the ABS picks up the wheel speed (that's hidden even with the wheel off)?
If so I wonder if there is muck in that that could be the cause of both the clicking and the brakes!!

The ABS ring is inside the swivel and the sensor is through the top swivel pin.
Take them fookin dust shields off and bin em - they're nowt but a fookin pain in the arris.

I second that... It's expected your inside pads will wear a little quicker however at £10 for a set of good pads it's nothing to worry about.
