clear tail lights

i have a 98 discovery 300 tdi and recently decided to put a clear light conversion kit in the rear bumper so now the indicators are clear with orange bulbs and the red side lights are clear with red bulbs......here is the problem, the red lights are more pink than red and look crappy plus i'm having real problems finding red 5 watt bulbs as spares, i can't even find them on ebay! but i want to keep the unit because the indicators look good so does anyone know if i can move the red side light wiring up to the main cluster in the rear pillar where the brake lights are? there seems to be spare places in the unit as i think the lights were moved up there in series two disco's....correct me if i'm wrong, any help would be appreciated as at the moment i think the local constabulary might use my pink(ish) rear side lights as a reason to pull me!

Out of interest, where did you get the clear units?

I'm thinking of tinkering with the rear lighting setup to get more light when reversing, as you're only allowed two reversing lights I can't use my original idea of a separate work lamp (or two) wired to the reverse live feed via a relay with another permanent live by switch...

My new plan is clear rear bumper clusters with 4x21w white bullubs, then disable the side cluster mounted lamps. This should be just about legal!

search ebay for LED bulbs, they give a better colour light than them ****ty coloured bulbs.

the units came from a parts supplier on ebay, they are called jgs 4x4, i got front indicators, side indicators and the rear units too, they were about ten quid more than the standard coloured ones but they make the disco look really nice.

ive fitted all round clear lenses to my defender and they look brill. im gonna fit clear indicators (front) to my discovery next, ive looked at the bumper lights (clear) but didnt go with them cos i thought it wouldnt look right having coloured lights aswell. im supprised some one hasnt made clear light clusters for the discovery yet !

Ive put clear front indicators, side repeaters and rear bumper lights and 300tdi rear clusters on my Disco 1 XS and it makes it look hell of a lot better, i also had the problem of the rear lights being too pink whilst on and looked too new and shiny when off, i thought about spraying the red bulbs with a light spray of window tinting spray but decided instead to ask the good people of ebay to send me some free samples of their window tinting film, the samples came, i chose light smoke, cut it in half and fitted each piece to my lights! Problem sorted now and didnt cost anything

For Gods sake chaps, clear lenses are for chavs with ****ed Corsa's. NOT for blokes with real motors.:doh:
