Hi,
I have now got my Freelander, but it needs one heck of a clean. I need to know what people use to clean the plastic ie bumper, wheel arches etc, is it a dark grey or black? What is the best stuff to use to get it back to original condition?

Thanks

Could be wrong but I thought pre2000's had grey bumper, arches etc. So getting them back to black maybe impossible anyway. I know this because mines a 2000 Es right on the borderline with black bumper.

If you want to get the dark grey ones black then wilkos cheap shoe scuff remover is your best friend :). A mate of mine's is still looking great after a year.

Perhaps mine were grey then! And yea I use that autoglym bumper and trim gel and it's excellent.

mines a 2002 and is black, i assume they changed from grey to black in the same year

gary

Autoglym is brilliant. Use a cheap pound land tire gel and soak it all over the bumper let that dry for 10 - 15 mins then buff off after 10 mins use Autoglym on the bumper as normal. Cheap stuff is used to soak into bumper getting back into shape. If the plastic has been left to fade for a long time one coat of any gel will keep going patchy.
