Reet, so the K&N on me Rangey was caked up wi shoite and seriously needed cleaning. After trying every possible outlet to get the proper cleaning stuff I went in desperation to Minispares (North) as I went past on me way to the tip. They had the stuff and it were half the price that Demonchavs wanted on their website. In anticipation of me AFM being far from perfect condition I bought some Halfrauds Bike Hut bicycle and chain degreaser (citrus flavour anorl).

Well I took me filter off an used a scrubbing brush to get rid of the twigs and larger lumps of mud a crap then started spraying the gunk onto it. Was spraying fer about 10 minutes and me drive looked like the Exxon Valdez had just run aground on it. Let it soak fer 10 mins as per instruction and had a look at me AFM. It was black, covered in a really heavy greasy film. Sprayed on the bike degreaser an it came up like new in under a minute.

Anyway, started spraying more gunk on the filter and started getting worried by the size of the oil slick on me drive at this point, and even more concerned about the pile of silt that had built up. Anyways, rinsed it with hose pipe (cleaned drive as well as the filter, and fook me, dint know it were white cotton gauze innit. Anyhoo, lightly oiled it with the K&N red stuff (sure it's just ATF in an aerosol) put it all together and she's running beautifully. Also flushed coolant system out, put new stat in and fresh coolant/antifreeze. Just going to test her on LPG on way home tonight after I've filled up at Morrisons :D Piccie of AFM after squirting bike chain cleaner on it.
