Classic Range Rover vs P38 off roading

Hi,
Has anyone the experience of off-roading in both of the above, i have had a few classics and they have been amazing to drive off-road but are the P38's just as good? A good classics are rising in price so i have been thinking of a P38 but have no knowledge of them any advice would be most welcome.

I have a p38 diesel and have used it for travelling in europe and done a few off roads with it and quite happy with it.
I do not use it for extreme off road as I am usually a long way from help and if i dont feel comfortable about the road i will not take it there as i usually travel alone without recovery gear apart from a shovel and jack.

p38s are harder to modify cos there is generally less stuff for em. But 996turbo has some products for the p38 offroad.

I've offroaded both and as previous post not a lot of offroad kit for p38 but as for the ride and ability better than a classic in my opinion
