Classic LSE cutting out at idle...

Well, you're gonna laugh - my rrc is having a very similar issue, misfiring and rough idle with the occasional stall. The idle is mostly O.K. but it gets really upset if you open the throttle quickly from idle. Slow throttle, it picks up and revs fine.

I have swapped out the ignition amplifier, new rotor arm and cap (genuine of course!), new coil, new plugs and leads, set ignition timing, checked throttle pot but still it persists!. I did find a fuel leak, the original fuel return pipe had rusted and was leaking, so fixed that and still no better. Removed plenum and ram housing, checked all vac lines and put it all back together - still rough just doesn't want to play ball coming off idle but will rev fine once I get the revs to pick up.

I wondered if it was an EFI issue so plugged in my spare ECU - still the same so I have to say I suspect it may be either a weak fuel pump or possibly an iffy fuel regulator, mind you I suppose a new fuel filter might be an idea while I'm at it. When I get to the bottom of it I'll let you know. Gonna go and sulk now!

I always start with the filter, because all the rest of that is the hard part. :)
