Go to your local scrappy blag a door or bonnet and practise, practise and when your done practise again so you know what to do if it blows thru or doesn't pool well.

Flux wire has its place but burns hotter so blows out bodywork easier but OK to learn how to manipulate torch and arc.Expensive and v bad 4 u fumes.

Wire thickness makes an enormous difference in results,0.6 should do everything you want for now, learn that less is more !

Its got a reel of 0.6 wire on it as thats what the guy was using on it to weld up his van.
Quite a bit left on it but the disposable gas can is empty.
Its got the gas can feed/connector and is in pretty good condition!

Sounds fair...is that just straight CO2 ? What sort of supplier ? If no industrial gases and no pub access then soft drinks firms will usually supply. You are going to need a regulator with at least one gauge, better with two, and a bullnose adaptor to switch between pub CO2 and argoshield. You should be able to get for 20is from weldequip on that link I gave you...or you can bugger around on the bay and maybe get sold some ****e that doesnt work, maybe a bargain. The most important thing you will need is a hose adaptor to go from regular size to that little thin nylon stuff on clarke and other small machines.Again, weldequip will know what you need and not rip you off.

Yep thats straight co2
Have had a good look at the info you gave me the link to - very interesting mate, thanks!
I am a newby to this welding lark but don't have any time limit to learn (no mot to get/holes in floor/chassis hanging off etc.......)
Just seen the disposable bottles of gas for £10 each which would last for around 6 mins!!!

Thanks for the help mate - i do appreciate it!

Cheers
