clarion head unit with hk arrrrrrrrrh

ok happy wonderfull spring to all of you wonderfull landy owners....
ok i have a 1998 p38 hse ltd edtion ...think its some thing to do with the 50th ann of landy.. anyhow it has the clarion h.u with hk speakers its naff so outdated so want to install a alpine unit but how dow i convert the pink 10 pin plug to 8 pin ?? some one out here must of had this done ive seen lots of p38s with retro fit head units but alas no real help ... so please can some one give me the info needed... what and how do i fit a alpine ao it all works lovely ?? do i need to rewire the whole thing ?? bloody amps are a pain cheers and thank you all...
ohhh on a separate note ..my book symbol was on my hvac unit so kwick fit regas and hey presto ice cool air con and no book symbal ... wish the radio was as easy ..

Yes radios are tricky. There was a big thread on here not so long ago (days +) on the ultimate aftermarket radio install so go back a number of pages and all should be revealed.
Myself, my wifes Skoda Fabia 1.4's radio just packed up (ultra basic car and radio) I remembered that I had one or two old radios I had put in old RangeRovers long gone. Found one which I fitted today. Was a bit of a job working out how a 1980's radio could be wired in to the two speakers on the Fabia - but it works and very well too, much better than the old Fabia unit. Not bad as its an old PYE unit with a cd slot and just 25 watts per channel!!
Only problem is it only plays 1980's news and records!!

hi guys im still on the hunt for a new LCD display for my HU.. think its a clarion but not 100%.. the changer is Clarion in the rear...
so if anyone has an Unwanted HU going spare will happily pay postage etc....
looking fwd to digging out my 80's mix tapes !!!

Sorted it peeps nexxia have a new lead kit out ....£49 but omg it works no hiss buzz or anything ...nice Alpine unit and wow the sound is so sharper ....so to those who say hk set up is good as a factory set up .... Buy the lead get a good head unit and whack a cd on and sit back and you will have the biggest smile on ya face ......good look enjoy the sounds ... Happy chappie rage against Mach ... Love it ......... Now ya gonna do as I told ya ..... Lol

When i got my p38 it had alpine fitted in but none of the controls on the steering worked, but alpine do a lead that just plugs in i had it fitted now all working great. so i would sugest if you contact alpine sure they could help you.
