is it possible to get teflon swivels to fit series 3? if not what are the best quality chrome ones. I don't want to have to re-do the job in two or three years time so want the best chance of keeping corrosion at bay.

Not sure about Teflon balls but you can get a boot type thing for militry spec that covers them
If packed with a load of grease this will stop them getting chipped and keep everything lubed

I have the chrome ones that were original to the vehicle, ser2 / late 50s , they only seem to corrode where the oil seals dont pass, ie a segment either side so to say , i polished mine out and fitted a pair of leather gaters packed with grease, the rubber boot type are ok too if your not too fussed aout staying original ,

if they are pitted beyond use as the oil seals letting a drip past , iv sand blasted them and covered them in a thin later of araldite, 2 part, then rubbed them down with sandpaper, another few layers of araldite later and finishing with wet and dry paper under the tap , you can see a glass like ball , as long as you get it sooooo shiny you can see the future in it , they will lasted years

I considered teflon but couldn't be sure about what the teflon was coated to underneath so decided to go for chrome. Hoping to fit them in the next 3-4 weeks. I guess only time will tell how good the chrome is.
Mine also only really corroded where the seals don't run to. I might make it a 6 monthly service job to apply some marine grease to these areas to hopefully protect them from water / road salt etc.
