Hi,
I have a choke cable switch that is not connected up to the cable. So it is currently sending a signal to the dash to light up the cold start light.
Could anyone tell me how to connect it to the choke cable so it works correctly.
Thanks

Not sure what you mean by a choke cable switch? The std choke is integrated into the steering column. Do you have diesel or petrol? Is it a Series Landy?

I have a series 3 petrol 2.25. From what I understand when the choke is out the switch should relay that info to the cold start light that turns it on

Better description of what you have is needed.

Standard is a switch which clips onto the cable under the bonnet about 6" from thr bulkhead but you may have a non standard cable/switch

Apparently some had two switches. One on the cable like...

And another temp sensor wired in series on the front of the head so the light only comes on when the choke is out and the engine is up to temp.

Mine just has the cable switch minus the clip so it's cable tied on (temporarily obviously :p )

Yeah I have the black bit in your picture. Might need to cable tie it on also as a temporary fix also
Does it matter at what point it is attached to the cable?
Also how would it recognise if the choke was on out of interest?
Thanks

It clamps onto the sleeve on the right of this pic...

If you don't have the right cable the switch is live when open ie not clamped to anything.

Iirc there's a little push button where the switch clamps to the cable and the light goes out when it's depressed by a cable join under the sleeve

Very interesting. Mine is a diesel conversion to petrol. We bypassed the fitted choke and fitted a separate choke so I never have that problem. Must have a look at mine.

To update, the previous owner had put in a choke cable without the sleeve. So il change and fit the switch when I get chance.
Thanks
