I have been looking into getting my 2001 TD4 chipped! i have been given an estimate of a 25% saving on fuel, extra torque and better accelleration.

Has anyone had theres chipped? Is it worth the money for the savings in the longrun and have you found any downfalls.#

cheers

search and yu shall find!

Mine done in october 2001 and both the engine and the autobox love the extra power, and so do I. Not for racing but much smoother running in all aspects. As for the saving of fuel, if you drive with exactly the same conditions/settings of gaspedal etc.. you will save fuel but as one automatically drives according to the "new" engine possibilities the difference for me was that the fuel consumption stays the same but the rest goes swifter.

Dont bother getting it chipped m8, get a roverron gismo. They are very good and half the price of getting it chipped.I have one on my 2001 td4 and its given it a new lease of life even though the motor has done 150000 miles.Money well spent for once on the hippo.
