Ah the rust, how is it BMW could build a car that rusted???? I have a Vauxhall van thats older than this, done the same miles and doesnt have a spot of rust... boggles the mind.

I don't get it myself. Why buy an alnost 3 tonne , vehicle, that already likes to visit petrol stations, then think 'oh I know I'll add something to make it a race car, and improve mpg at the same time" First off it'll never be a race car, if they want to be a boy racer then should've bought something else, and secondly it will, not ,not, not (did I say not) improve mpg, in any way to write home about.

Well.... all good points. the last owner spent a fortune on upgrades, body kits, wheels and this little box of tricks [whatever it is], I inherited the lot. Along with intermittent electrical problems caused by sunroof drains blocked, some light rust and injectors that need sorting so it will start on the button.
I have to say, it gets off the line VERY quickly!

Do you know who you bought the vehicle off personally? - not uncommon for some to sell a vehicle, then later come back for it

Thought the early ones were BMW? Design was under the BMW period.Actually was built under fords Tenure of LandRover

Originally known as the "L30" it was a BMW design and retained the engines up until 2006MY after that MY it recieved the Far superior Ford/Jaguar V8's.
L322 was actually a Ford re-code so to speak
The 2000-2002 P38 were also built under Fords eye.

You may have seen I started another thread about fixing my starting problems, well in stripping the top off the engine I found where the wires went! See attached photo;
It looks like the [pressure] sensor on the back end of the fuel rail is interupted???
Why would you do that????

Fool it into thinking pressure is lower than actual perhaps? - is starting to look like a ‘power’ box
