Chinese Land wind X7 - Range Rover Evoque Clone

It is crazy how the law works in that country.





The ironic part of this whole story is, Land Rover actually plans to begin production in China with the Evoque being the first model to be coming out of the factory.

There was summat on TV a few months ago, the Chinese are cloning all sorts of cars. When challenged in their court they just decided, no, its not the same. I wonder if they could clone a Defender, Range Rover or Series Landy and make it work without needing constant maintenance?

Now there's a thought,

its how chinese "law" works, you sell somthing over there, they automatically have the right to reverse engineer it.
They then make somthing thats the same but isn't the original, they do the same in business (know somone who was caught not by not knowing "custom")

They show you branded product "A" that does XYZ, you agree to buy a product that will do the the same, they ship you BrandX product that does XYZ, sometimes as well as, sometimes not.

Just looked at the manufacturer, Jiangling Land Wind...

The Quality will be horrible,

even the locally ( chinese) made branded BMW's and Audis are not to the same quality as European made cars.

they make a very nice version of the Humvee. Only changed the headlight shape. They also make a terrible copy of the X5.

Not to be trusted in business I am afraid. Still a great place to live, LOL

Both Audi and Ford make something that could be mistaken for an Evoque on first glance.

Seeing as how most of their stuff breaks really easily I somehow doubt they could.

Based on the fact that their version of an S-Class is £10k I reckon this would be about £6k lol

They had a peice about them on Top Gear a while back, the quality is horrible. Their S-Class had a 3 speed auto with overdrive and a top speed of 75 i think. Full of gadgets and gizmos that one would never ever need

Also I think the Frontera rip off are genuine, a guy in work loves Fronteras and apparently the rights to them have been sold to the Chinese.
