Hi all, today my new key fob was delivered from land rovers ' chinese ' offices.
It arrived on time, it was cheap, well packaged although in Chinese.
My old fob circuit board slotted straight in and my key seated perfectly over the post.
All worked well following a basic fob resync.
Its been a long time since anything went so smoothly with my p38 I had to share it with you.

The reason for purchasing new fob, I had a problem with the unlock micro switch and the old fob looked like it had been through the dog. Plus land rover wanted £17000 and my left nut for a new one.
Have a good weekend.

Come on everything comes from China these days. Briggs and Stratton 16 HP V twin engine. America personified. New dipstick. Guess what, Made in China. :D

Indeed, my two year old OEM fob is already looking tatty and the buttons are starting to split, the 14 year old original fob is now in better shape than the replacement.

Couple of places to get them... Amazon have one at £12 (the one I got) and there's one through your search engine at a fiver.
No doubt they are the very same but the amazon ad was nicer. :D
Also considering the price of the PCB I used a solder iron to heat seal the unit closed, just a touch on each side, so it wouldn't pop open in the rain sending the PCB into a puddle.

Thinking of fixing the PCB in car with 2 hidden micro switches externally....any thoughts on a location ??
