I have just bought a Landrover 90 1989 with a full engine and body rebuild. The outside is like brand new and i am wanting to know if anybody can help with a couple of questions:

1/what is the best way to fix chequer plating down in the boot/loading space?

2/ I am wanting to chequer plate all of the footwells and the area around the gearstick for easy cleaning-has anyone ever seen this done or would anybody know where would possibly do this-I AM LOCATED IN HUDDERSFIELD, WEST YORKSHIRE

you can buy the kits. Speak to Rebel 4x4. Dont know where they are, think they are up north, but i do know they do all sorts of CP. I would make sure this is the right thing to do before parting with your £££. It wont be cheap and I know it will look gaustly.

Good luck.

I used mastic to fix chequerplate to the rear tub when I did my old V8 station wagon.

There used to be a guy selling chequerplate front floor panels on ebay. I would actually advise against doing it. You would be far better off with the rubber matting kit. Chequerplate makes the floor slippery when it's wet and muddy. It also makes it far more noisey inside. To add to that it also makes it a lot colder in winter. When I chequerplated the entire interior on mine I put the original carpets down over the cp in the rear tub and second row seating area when I was using it on road. I also put the rubber mats over the front floor area. When offroading I would take em all back out to leave just the chequerplate. After finding my feet slipping all over the place with mud on em I started leaving the rubber mats down in the front even when offroading.
