Anyone know of any good (cheap) places in the west midlands/birmingham area to pick up some 3mm chequer plate?

Everything I've found online is either ridiculously expensive or (understandably) charging a fortune for delivery.

It's only for fabricating a centre dash console thingy so it doesn't have to be amazing quality or be treated in any way...
 
Go out for a drive and find where the local Landy folks live, no doubt there will be a fair few Defenders and Discos with copious amounts of chequer all over them. Head out with a drill and help your self.

Thats the sort of answer I was looking for - someone that's dealt with a company and had a good experience! - cheers! Still fairly pricey tho

single sheet of CP 1250x1000x2mm is going to come in at £49 + delivery.....just seems a lot of cash - is it just me and my ignorance of current metal prices?

Once I've added on fixings and brackets and diesel picking the stuff up I'll be looking at over £60........for an extra £15 I could get a raptor dash.....starting to look like a more tempting proposition!
 
I bought 3mm black wingtops from them and they were about £20 cheaper than others I saw. With those they also sent the black rivets ... not bad really I thought. Why don't you contact them and see if they can give you an off-cut? :)
