engine - 2.0 DI , - 20 T2N, 72 kW / 98 PS

problem - when driving slow @ low rpm 1200-1500 red check engine light goes on, when press clutch and put RPMs up light goes away instantly.

no other problems starts excellent runs good (as good can run 72kw engine) there is enough oil etc.

is it low pressure?

It would be helpful to get the error code read. In the meantime, I'd do the usual maintenance, check and change filters, clean the airflow sensor, make sure that the EGR system isn't choked up, etcetera.

If the oil pressure was low, presumably the oil light would come on.

Does the oil warning light come on when you turn the ignition on and go out once engine has started?

As stated, getting the codes read will tell you why the light is lit. You won't be able to use one of the cheap ODBII dongles on an L Series, you'll need a Freelander specific reader - a Land Rover garage will obviously be able to read them (if you have 1 local).

You could check wiring to the injection pump and #1 injector, make sure the connectors are seated correctly.

all filters changed, oil, fuel and air.
will check EGR system.

oil warning light is fine, goes on with ignition, and turns off when started.

ok, will go through wires.

not sure about code reading, I try to get some code reader but it's a 90-mile drive to Land Rover garage.

Is there a local LR owners club? Maybe a local member might help with a code reader?
might be, there is not a lot of information about LR services and repairs in my country, the car is not that popular here, I guess it is because of the price.

I can't even find Latvian LR forum.

there is something like 5 used LR freelanders for sale in the biggest car selling portal in Latvia.

Similar here. On our main car selling site and FB Market place combined there are less than 10 F1s and 15 F2s for sale.

It is particularly Freelanders that are not common here though. There are lots of the other LR and RR models so there is a good LR 'community'.

I get a similar thing with my L series sometimes. When driving on very low rpm for a little bit the engine warning light will come on, then go away as soon as the rpm increases. Doesn't happen all the time.
I don't get any codes on the Hawkeye afterwards though and it never happens enough to bother to try and get live data.

yeah, I cleaned the EGR filter and intercooler pipe and now the light goes on only when I'm pulling a trailer on low RPMs, I will check what's going on with carter ventilation maybe there is something wrong, and the engine does not "breathe" correctly.
