its illegal, but it works. add some 2 strroke oil, atf etc. for lubrication, it burns hotter tho. eill fuvk piston rings. dont boot it too much if your using it. ive thinnedcooking oin with it before. ran escort van on it for long enough, used to fill a 45 gal drum then mix it with gear oil and put it strait in, it got to the point that it wouldnt start as compression was low, had to bump it or add a little oil to the intake.
overall, not a good idea tho.

I only read his last post about heating oil & as I said heater our heaters ran on heavy oil. Did he mention that he heard of someone running a car on central heating Kerosene or Gas or did he say OIL?

If you say so but the stuff I used to buy from the link below certainly wasn't red diesel and it heated my house for many years along with thousands of other homes around us.

So on your logbook for your Diesel car does it say Fuel type= Gasoil or does it say Heavy Oil?
All Im trying to point out is that the BMW ran on Heating oil no probs. Do you think he was telling porkies & saying it ran on Kerosene no probs cus I would doubt that 100%.too but dont shoot him down by not giving him the full picture of what heating oil can be.

I really can't be arsed arguing about this so I'll leave it with...

You'd have to be a bloody fool to use either kero or red in your motor as they are both illegal and they can crush your car for using it and fine you back tax for every mile you've driven since you owned it.

Yep it was kero and neat and he used it for years the only problem he had was when it's really cold it struggles to start but once going its fine.

you two donuts, you can get heating systems that use kero or gasoil/derv and both come under the title heating oil.

you'll have run into 28 second and 35 second oil before when you are ordering. 28 is kero and 35 derv.

kero is close to derv.. but not quite. just like you lot and monkeys

This is true....get dipped on the side of the road and found using either you vehicle will be immediately impounded until you appear in court....no ifs or buts...

The vehicle may be ordered destroyed or not but either way you are liable to impound charges at a daily rate plus fine, it may take several months to get to court.

Kero is also lacking in additives to lubricate the FIP

Also be careful adding used engine oil to your tank, particularly if it is still black. It is commonly added by criminals to mask the colour of red diesel. It could fool the traffic plod, but not the customs inspectors. Saw this on a recent traffic cops programme, where they stopped someone, dipped his tank and found black gunge. The driver said he added his waste engine oil to the tank as a friendly disposal method; however, the cops were debating if it was legal to burn the waste oil and couldn't find an answer. It turned out he was using red diesel after further testing.
