I know. The peninsula is hit because shortest mileage is by ferry. The truth of the matter is that Royal Mail, and the main couriers don't charge any different, be it Dumfries, Glasgow , Fort William, Peninsula, Mull , or anywhere else. They all go by dimensions and weight.

Years ago I knew a guy whose gran lived on one of the islands, he always paid extra for next day delivery from Gloucestershire, always got a refund as they always failed.

Our local post office doesn't guarantee next day. They always say, 'you can pay for it but won't happen'. Also some decent ebay sellers, will message and say they can do normal postage but can't do next day or 48hrs. I'd sooner use them, even if item is a bit more expensive.
