Last week I spotted a defender that had cut down front wings allowing the front wheel to contact the ground before the front bumper/ body of the vehicle.

The owner has moved the indicator up towards the sidelight, cut down the wheel arch and chopped the wing at 45 degrees and finished it with a piece of plastic.

If anyone knows what I'm prattling on about or have done similar could they post a picture.

Apologies. It was late when I compiled that post.

The tyre to touch the ground before the body/ bumper.

surely the tyre should touch the ground anyway..

Are you talking about approach / attack angle?

Cheers

Try a google image search for "defender challenge wing".
I presume that's the shape you're looking at. There's bound to be a "ghetto" application in there somewhere.

It allows for the tyre to contact the ground of a slope without the body clashing with anything.

Vinlander thank you, I could picture it but I didn't know what to search.
