Ffs help me get the wife off my case  I've done a chassis swap onto a galvanized one, its a 300tdi 90 but I've run into a couple of snags.
On completion she fired up perfectly electrics seemed ok, lights indicators horn etc were all fine until I let off the handbrake and it all went to pot wtf so I presumed it was possibly an earth issue so I moved the earth and now the electrics work perfectly but when I turn the key to fire the car up the electrics go off and the starter does nothing. Any help or suggestions much appreciated.
I'm currently using the wifes car for work need I say more

Have you got all the earth straps correctly fitted? There should be one from the battery to the chassis then others from the engine and gearbox the the chassis. I also have one from the bulkhead to the chassis

Aha you could be onto something there, I don't have one from the gearbox or engine to the chassis, I'll definitely check that one out thanks mate

Having trouble bleeding the brakes too, one of the nipples on the rear caliper is seized does anyone know of any tricks to getting around bleeding it before I go and fork out on two new calipers and pads which I can't afford

theres usually a blanking plug at the top or the pipe fitting it self ,slacken press pedal down ,hold down till retightened let pedal up then repeat till free of air

Heat, vice grips and patience. Don't just lock them on and try and turn it straight away you need to work it loose.

Ref bleeding the brakes, have you tried to tighten the caliper nipple a touch?, sometimes this will break the hold on the thread and allow it to undo. Also sometimes a gentle tap with a hammer on the top of the bleed nipple can have the same affect.

Tried the blanking plug method James but couldn't seem to bleed it, the pedal was still very spungy unless pumped, will try some heat tonight if I get chance, thanks for all the suggestions lads much appreciated

Yes it did sible thanks, I'm a happy man, both problems sorted within an hour the heat did the trick gradually and then bled to perfection, thanks again for everyones help it saved me a few hours of head scratching did that
