Using a flap wheel in an angle grinder works really well and quick, low effort too.

I coat the underneath of my cars with EP 90 that I keep back, after the diff oil changes. So it's for free!!!!!!!

Wire cup brush on a small angle grinder does the biz. Goggles and decent pair of work gloves are a must tho, as wires can fly off and are VERY painfull when they hit you. Do not, as i hav stupidly done, wear shorts while using one.

agree about the gloves, dropped me grinder, while it was spinning up with one of the flat wire wheel on, onto me thumb, christ it made a mess took weeks to heal properly

When I done my chassis I used them grinder wire wheel things and they are awesome!
The Cup type I used on me big grinder was savage so moved to a smaller 4" jobbie from Trago for fekall, they are good but please for the love of jean paul use eye protection as them wires when they fling off are nasty got one wedged in me lip went in about 10mil:eek:
And me trousers were like a hedgy pigs back:D
Seriously though they are nasty things, I also had it wind itself up in me jumper when I lost grip of it when the grinder 'took off' cause with them cheap 4" grinders they don't have a 'press and hold' switch so you push em and they stay on so when I lost grip of it, it flew into me top and caught the fabric and wound itself up.

Could ask the pope:doh: feck I was trying to post with out mentioning the pope! Fek Fek Fek:doh::doh::doh:

For starters I always borrow mi mates F/O 200 bar power wash with rotary nozzle that not only blows all the crap away but puts holes in the chassis so you know where work has to be done :)

Yeah, sorry. I realised afterwards that question was kind of retarded. I wouldn't have painted my exhaust though, I'm not that special.

At Peterborough i looked under the Whittam specialist vehicles Landys, they seem to take the approach of spray EVERYTHING with Waxoyl. Swivel house geaters and exposed parts, shocks and rubber gaters, the lot. I can't remember if they sprayed the exhaust or not though.

Not suggesting you should, just pointing it out as something i noticed and thought was rather odd :)

one suggestion if using a waxoil injector probe: is to make up some lenghts of masking tape the same length as the probe and stick em to your chassis, as you work along you can tear them off, that way you dont miss any of the 'inside' of the chassis rails.

Personaly I think waxoil is crap! When I did my other 110 rust started coming through again within months.

I now use some other stuff that I get for nolt off a painter & decorator mate that's like a clear resin that stops the rust and leaves a hard protective coating and must admit  spray it every where exhaust un all (not a problem, stinks a bit :D but burns off quickly)
