Ello again:D sorry for all the questions but since joining this fine forum its given me a welcome kick up the rear getting my 90 back up and running.
right im after recommendations for chassis paint, what do you use? i found some on ebay claims to have certain properties and specificaly for chassis but thats ebay.
also how many litres for a 90 chassis thanks.

I scraped mine clean, rust treated with Jenolite, then sprayed it with a Galv rich paint normally used in the oil rig industry...

Half Way......

and finally coated the whole thing using Gravelguard in a Schutz type gun, gave a superb coating that cleans very easily

footwells, fuel tank etc etc all done as I plan to keep her for a few years yet....

More details on my site...

Cheers Steve

i am doing my 110 at the moment and have done the following

1 - remove rust and dirt withwire brush and drill

2 - treat with hamerite krust

3 - pant with red oxide

4 - apply stonechip and the problems begin........

the stonechip will not stick to red oxide i as i found out, but it will stick to anything that does not have red oxide on it

5 - remove stonechip and replace with hamerite black paint.

6 - opens the beers!!!!!

add to the above - liquid gasket between ally and steel, and I'm coating all the ally underside with either stoneguard over etch primer or chlorinated rubber paint (again from the rigs) depending on location. I also got some amazing rubber paint from a pal in the military for footwells and rear tub.

red oxide primer then hammerite "hammered" paint - £18.49 a litre from homebase, works a treat as i have now done my diffs and axles with it to.

Only issue I found with hammerite was that it chipped off very easily when off road with flint chips / stones being thrown up, however i did not use it over red oxide , i painted straight on the chassis and it was hopeless, red oxide may be the trick..
