i have found a nice c reg 90 with a 300tdi engine. from the documentation this is a conversion from a v8 petrol.
what has confused me is that the chassis number is
SALLDVAC7AA which from what i can work out means it should have a 2.5 diesel in originally.
does this mean that it has been converted twice or something because everything else seems to match up.
bit confused about this and am unsure as to whether to make the buy because of this

Dont worry about it, change the v5...most of that age have been converted...maybe the v8 was too thirsty and last owner did a conversion...chances are it started as a 2.5n/a as did mine..from 84.

How about asking the seller?

The 2.5 to V8 conversion is pretty easy methinks, I've heard putting a 300TDi in might be a bit of work, so this particular order seems fine. But I'd ask. If he tries to evade or doesnt answer to your satisfaction I'd walk away...

We have a saying at work - "If something doesn't feel right, it probably isn't."

I agree, if seller doesn't put your mind at ease, walk.
