Chargecooler on a 90

Anybody ever fit a chargecooler to a 200/300tdi or TD5?

Was thinking of trying to get more power and understand how a larger intercooler would help but, gettin into the spirit of the Land Rover thang, I thought I'd try to bodge summat up. There are some very small, neat chargecoolers available pretty cheap and I was wondering if fitting it down the RHS of the engine bay, in-line with the existing intercooler piping, maybe with some directional air-flow from the RHS wing vent, would be a winner? Could even fabricate a bit of a heat shield for the exhaust manifold and downpipe.

Or am I talkin bollox??

don't see the point TBH, large FMIC does the job very well and can't see a charge cooler working any better

Dunno if I'm so keen on a FMIC, heat dissipation into the rad and engine bay etc., and have been told that certain competition bodies will not allow them due to competitors having overheating problems in hot climates.

I'm not competing in any way but I can appreciate the sentiment.

A charge cooler may also be a big chunk less cost too. Certainly the mooching I've done would suggest so, plus possibly be used in-line with the existing intercooler for greater benefit.

charge cooler likely to be more expensive and harder to fit too.

generally cars only have charge coolers on space or air flow issues.

what you could do is set up a charge cooler secondary to the OE intercooler if you wanted
