charge light

just wonted to know what would cause my charge light to come on only when its cold or i brake hard all wires seem ok and tight is it battery or alternator any idears thanks

First thought. Is your engine RPM on the low side?

Is the battery in good condition?

alt belt loose ?

It sounds odd that the light comes on when you brake hard. My first thought is a wiring problem, have you taken the dash off and checked the wiring to the light bulb?. Does the light go out as soon as you come to rest after hard braking? It could be that the brushes in the alternator are worn out so the springs are not pressing them very hard onto the commutator and the deceleration under braking is causing them to loose contact.
