So my truck has been stood for a while as I've been making a few repairs and generally been too busy with work and home renovation to use it, gone out to do something this eve and discovered I'm locked out, I suspect the battery has run down as I can hear the lock actuators try to open and the indicators flash but the actuators don't actually unlock. I also don't have a functional key. I can however get the bonnet open, is there anything I can hook jump leads too under there that connects directly to the battery? I'd rather avoid having to actually break in and I'm sure people won't want to discuss those methods on a public forum.

Nope, I've never had a key that fits the locks, just the remote and the ignition key, been meaning to put new barrels in for a while, probably should have got round to it!

And don't call me Shirley!

Can you see the starter motor solenoid? as that going to be your main power point under the bonnet.

You need to tell us what engine you have, you could power things up via the solenoid wiring if you know what you are doing, but not to charge a battery, just to unlock the doors, and you will need to remove the wiring to avoid any damage as I assume it will be quite tight in there. You want to be powering up the main harness, not the starting system.

A boost pack or spare , good battery will do it.

Thanks all, it's a 300tdi, I've not looked at the solenoid as it's been dark when I've not been at work. I've got a jump pack so will have a go in the morning and yes, I just want to get the doors open so I can get to the battery to jump it!

Once done fit an anderson plug on the bumper with leads back to the battery and of course an inline fuse, then whenever battery issues, connect jump pack to anderson and away you go, also great for battery charging etc
