As title says, I want to change the springs on my 94 disco 300tdi to heavy duty ones, just for load carrying and occassional towing. These springs will lift the car by about 25-30 mm so would I need to change the dampers aswell or will the standard size be ok?

Taa.

No need to change the dampers,if they are servicable and if fitting HD springs at the back you dont even have to remove the dampers.

cheers James, the dampers look reasonably new but not sure only had this disco since December but I've really noticed the difference in the handling of this one as my old one had HD suspension and handled better under load than this one.

Thx Lazydog, that's good to know as I probly would have taken them off

I am not saying it doesn't help to take them off or at least undo bottom mount but is possible to replace springs with shock attached I have done it.

if the shocks look about the same age as the springs then I would change em, but if they look MUCH newer then you take your chances
