Anyone know what the carpets in the 96~ p38's are made of, is it wool? Was considering those carpet dyes to refresh and change colour from grey to black.

I was going to get the dylon hot manual dye that you mix with boiling water and some salt then spray on with a bottle. Seen a few posts and it's worked well for others.

Also wanted to ask what's a good material for re-lining pillars and the roof? Don't want to use suede or leather.

I just used a grey cloth for the roof lining, make sure you use a good quality glue to stick it. I used hi-temp spray on stuff & it does make a difference believe me.
Why not use Leather for the pillars, I did on mine, looks really good if you take the time.
HTH. :)

I started to do the pillars on mine. Pulled the old covers off and washed the remaining glue off with thinners. The plastic is a cream sort of colour and matched my interior so put them back like that. Looks good and easy to keep clean.

Don't try it with them in the car unless you want serious trouble.

+1 i striped all the glue off ready for the leather but when it came it didnt look the right shade. Had a distinct blue tint to the gray. So put it off till I got round to getting some more! That was about 16 month ago and untill reading this thread id forgot about them
I used spray brake cleaner to disolve the glue but any solvent will work
