Changing rear bulbs

I've just bought my first Landy, a 300TDi, and have come across my first problem, a rear bulb has blown. I have read the manual that comes with the Disco and although it says how to replace the bulbs in a model that comes without rear side-seats it doesn't explain how to in those that do.

I'm hoping someone on here could help.

How do I remove the seat to gain access to the rear bulbs so I can change one?

Yes it's a pain literally with scratches on the back of my hand as a result of changing a bulb. Yes u have to remove a few bolts from the seat to tilt it and get your hand in to the back of the light fitting but you don't have to remove the seat. If the bulb is original then it's tight to twist the holder out, once out replace the bulb then find the hole locate the lugs and twist to lock.. Time for tea.. Have a cup then go back and try again to locate the the bulb in the hole again.. Its a poor design as u will c..

Hi mate , Yes hes right hurts like hell just shut your eyes and feel also the rubber seal around light and get stuck under holder it will be a pain too and it will probably go again in a month then be ok for a few years.. sorrryyy

You don't need to remove the seat or even any part of it, fold it out fully and remove the panel, then you can reach in and get at the bulbs etc... I found its easier to undo the nut top and bottom and drop the WHOLE cluster out the back, makes it much easier to work with unless you have small hands.

I found it easier to undo the 2 nuts that hold the lens in place and take the whole light out and change the bulb.

Thankyou all, the bulb has now been changed!

I started off trying discools suggestion but found myself getting increasing frustrated so I took a short break, tried revjames idea and have got it sorted!

Also, While you are about it change the lamps for LED ones so that they never blow again.

Also C the notes on SUPER BRIGHT LEDS home with states the the led bulb should be the same colour as the lens i.e. red lens red bulb.

Its not the led's that blow it's the electronic circuit that has to handle all those led's that make up a bulb.. I have interor led lamps was 14 and 6 months later only 6 light up.
