Hi all.

I am changing my diffs for recond ones. 1961 88" petral. The rear one was a diddle. With car on floor I wiggled the half shafts out undid the nuts around the diff and it all swoped easey. Is the frunt the same? I am consurned about the stearing uj in the frunt half shafts? Any advice or opineons welcomb.
Thanks.

take the axle ends off withdraw enough to clear the diff will have to take off the track rod and more than likely the brake hoses

Does that mean the ring of boults inboard of the swivel housing? I am gessing so. In witch case I need to jack up and take wheals off. Thought that beeing able to do boath diffs as easey as the rear was is a bit optamistick. Tar man.

yea you got it will need new axle end gaskets aswell but you cannot refit them unless you fully withdraw the axle end and shaft unless you snip them and use silicone

It ain't easy doing it on your own, when you come to refit the axle ends you really need someone to turn the input shaft on the diff to allow the splines to line up, and the assembly is as heavy as fook.

thanks man.
