Our speeds have both our big numbers on the out side of the circle(like a clock) in Mph and kilo on inside the mile counter is in mph, other than that don't know. do a goggle search (wiki what ever) big help info to me

It's been mentioned on here a few times that if you change speedo or BECM unit then car retains the higher reading out of the two. So as long as you get a speedo with a lower recorded distance than your BECM you should be in business.

HOWEVER - I'd imagine that the BECM simply records a number so if you put a mileage speedo in you might just get your current kilometre reading coming up as miles.

I'd strongly suggest that you try to contact one of the BECM wizards (IRISH ROVER, RICK THE PICK) who understand and have the equipment to adjust the deep inner workings of the BECM before you go any further.

I bought a cheap sh speedo assy and took the facia with the speed printed on it, out and swapped it. It was a bit fiddly but kept the original mileage that matched my service history.

Convert your odometer reading to miles then look out for an instrument panel that has a lower reading in miles than the original. swap them out. It would be possible to reprogramme the Becm to match your new odometer reading otherwise the new odometer will update to the higher figure stored in the becm.
Whilst you are at it, you should get the Becm "Market" setting changed to UK just to be on the safe side, otherwise 100000 kms (60000 miles) could become 100000 miles in an instant !!!.

Hey John W....Moving to Somerset??????????....I am sure that a few yokels will educate you in the finer things in life like cheese and Scrumpy. Not forgetting warm REAL ALE and mubanks they call beaches (WSM springs to mind).
My old buddy Ridesafe will no doubts be along to offer his services as a guide and mentor.

Thanks for that John,

I don't do cheese and scrumpy, but on the rare occasion I do get a day off, then the ale doth flow........copiously!! ;) :D:D

The mud bank (beach) at w-s-m isn't the best by any means, but round here sure beats living in the city (or in yanky-land for that matter :D:D:D)
