Finished changing my gear box but now the clutch slips. Does this mean it needs bleeding or that i've buggered the clutch springs on the way in?

Thank you.

what have you actualy done, from what ive read you changed the box but dropped it which inits self is not a problem, was the clutch ok before you fitted the box, why was the box changed was naff or some one told you the box was knackered if you give a run down as to what you have done ect you will get a lot more help in sorting it,

I took an old knackered box off that was noisy and loose and kept jumping out of gear. Got a second hand box that was reconned only 80 miles before the chassis on the landy it was on gave out. So decided to get old box out and new one in. I bought the landy knowing this needed doing as a spares or repairs job. I have reasonable knowledge but sod all experience!!!

The clutch before was fine and did not slip. Clutch is only a few months old.

The old box dropped when the strap holding it as i was withdrawing it snapped and caught a couple of the clutch springs on it's way down. Now a few of those teethy (2 or 3) springs sat a little proud of the rest, 2mm maybe.

When i took the box off i simply unplugged the slave cylinder with the two bolts i did not do anything with it other than that. I made sure not to depress the clutch while the box was off.

I tried to bend the clutch springs back but to no avail so (I'm under some serious time pressure to move house hence need to get landy on the road) just put the new box on and re built everything.

I have not drained the clutch, i used the clutch push rod from my old box as it was in better nick (do they come in different lengths?)

Took it for a spin and every time i try to pull away at anything but super snail place in 2 3 or 4 it slips.

Thank you ever so much, and thank you for your very very kind offer of help! Sadly i didn't log on until it was too late!!!

People buying our house have suddenly brought forward completion date by 4 weeks so am in a sudden mad panic!!!

Will
