I have seen lots of threads on this subject , so I’ll start a fresh.
To further this , can I dismantle the blue plug that has the overlocking lever on it , i think this unit is responsible for controlling the display to the central monitor but open to any correction at this point? I have a suspicion it needs investigating , the black internals look like they might click out?

If the visible connectors are ok , then unlikely you need to take apart.
First, can I check that your problem is the same as I had, because lit but no life means different thing to different posters ;)
When you open door/switch on ignition, does there seem to be a glow from screen, but the logo doesn't come up and no writing on screen? Can you still play music/hear music? Do steering wheel controls still work?
Also before opening up plugs, are the connectors ok? If no corrosion , as was the case was with mine, I might have the answer :)

Its called a quadlock connector and yes the center bit comes out, look at the ends there is a little tag you lift up slightly and center bit slides out side ways, if needed you can remove each wire by pressing down on center bit of wire connector and pull wire out backwards, had to repin connectors when did the bluetooth upgrade thing on mine.
