central locking

Hi all

The passenger door is locked and I cannot unlock it

All the other doors work on the central locking. with the fob and with the key

How do I get the door card off to investigate with the door being unable to open, catch 22!

The door lock button on top of the sill feels loose, so I need to get to it to see what's occurring

Any ideas?

Sounds like its superlocked. Getting the door card off is possible with door closed, but almost certainly not without breaking it. Check rangerovers.net which has a how too on this subject & explains how to smash thru' top of lock to release superlocking. You will need to replace the lock.

Think you can still get card off with slight inconvenience

As stated its superlocked. If you don't want to smash the lock then you can remove the rear door, mask the paintwork with a couple of layers of duck tape, and cut through the front of the striker with an angle grinder. Then cut the rear of the striker with a new hacksaw blade, it will not take long. Then you can strip the lock out and replace the striker. I did it this way as I had to return the lock on warranty
